TextDrop is built around a simple idea: your text is your business. This policy describes what the app and the website do — and don’t do — with your data.

The TextDrop app

The app does not collect telemetry. It does not upload your text, device information, usage counts, connection records, or crash reports.

Text you send is transferred directly between your phone and your Windows PC over your local network. TextDrop does not route text through the internet, and there is no cloud storage of your text.

No account is required to use TextDrop.

The TextDrop website

The website is a static site. When you leave your email address to be notified when TextDrop launches, the email address is stored with our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and used only to send you launch notifications. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

If you contact us by email, we use the details you provide only to respond to your request.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your email address from the launch notification list at any time by writing to [email protected].

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
